A context driven design informed by Kant’s transcendental idealism that combines the functionality of a train station with pleasant public areas and celebrated studio spaces.

• Site and Client

The Baltic Triangle in Liverpool is dominated by the aesthetics of 1930’s brick warehouses. The once empty buildings now house an emerging lively artist community that want to redevelop the area.

• The idea of the Station

Having approached the project as an artist would, creating an interpretation of the “idea”, the empiric diagram is the archetype of a 1930’s train station with a clock tower and two adjacent assembly spaces.
