Another concept proposal

Two design proposals for an affordable housing estate in Sibiu, RO. The second design shown opposite was chosen by the client for further development.

The budget became the most significant design constraint, any aesthetic decision needing to be of maximum effect with minimum costs. The visualisations shown are my own attempts to satisfy and exceed the brief.

Public spaces within the estate aim to promote a community feel. My preferred option, shown in the image on the right, included small areas for chance encounters and explored design principles outlined by Herman Hertzberger.
